Pastor Dave & Carrie Munger
Administrative & Worship Pastors
Carrie and I have been serving in the music ministry at Sheffield church since 2008. We have a great team working with us to help encourage a Spirit filled, uplifting, worship experience for everyone to take part in. We also enjoy working in other areas of the church so you will see us around the church, participating in events, teaching Sunday school or leading Connect Group ministries. My wife and I live in Elyria with our son Josiah. Josiah is involved in the music ministry, helping in kids church and Rooted Youth Ministries.
I have a Master’s degree in Business Administration with a strong engineering background. I work as an operations manger in the electronics division at R.W. Beckett corporation in North Ridgeville. Carrie and I completed the Ministerial Internship Program and I became an ordained bishop through the Church of God in March of 2019. We both have been involved in leading worship for many years prior to serving at Sheffield and we are excited to be able to continue that work at our church. All of this information is just to give you a chance to get to know us a little better. We look forward to seeing you at church and getting to know your story as well!

My husband, Dennis, and I pastored a church plant in Sheffield for 5 years. In 2010, while on a summer sabbatical, we learned that Sheffield Church of God had a new pastor and decided to “take a look”. We‘ve been here ever since!
Dennis and I are ‘retired’. I love that word. It conjures up a picture of such a quiet, peaceful life. It does not however, describe the life we live. We have 4 grown children, and as you may know, if you have adult children, the word ‘grown’ never really describes your children. We also have 5 wonderful grandchildren, ranging in ages 13 to 19. They bring such joy to our life. We certainly understand the saying “If I’d known Grandchildren were so much fun I would have had them first!”
About the same time that I lost my ‘big, important corporate job’ due to downsizing, the church secretary position became available. Pastor asked if I would consider filling the position. I’ve been here ever since! (See a pattern here?) Seriously though, this position affords me the opportunity to meet and interact with wonderful, loving people who call this church home, people who love God and each other. I also get to see new people come and find that ‘something special’ they’ve been searching for—just like we did!
